It's a...

BOY!!!

The week after Phil's birthday we all got to drive down to Idaho Falls to find out the gender of the baby! It was also the 20-week comprehensive anatomy ultrasound, which made me a little nervous. Phil decided at the last second, well actually after we had already left, that he wanted to come. I'm sure for my benefit and out of love for me than anything else. We waited for him at the Tetonia church and then all drove out together. We made the appointment cut-off time by the skin of our teeth, and all watched our little babe wiggle on the big screen as the technician checked out our baby. Up to this point, Lola and Boyd wanted a baby sister and Brewer wanted a baby brother. Phil and I really just wanted a healthy and happy baby and would be so happy with either gender. The moment finally came when we saw that our little baby was a boy!! Brewer said, "yes!" and did a little fist pump. It didn't sink in all appointment for Lola that she was getting a brother. We asked her what we should name him and she promptly responded, "baby sister!" It took most of the day to flip the switch in her mind and start telling people that she was getting a brother. But all in all, we were so very excited that we were having a boy!! The ultrasound also showed that this little boy has the same hydronephrosis of the kidney that Brewer had, but the heart and all 4 chambers looked really good!! We still planned to have a fetal echo on the heart and would then follow up with baby boys growth and watch his kidneys on a monthly basis by ultrasound.
