!!Happy Birthday Lola!!

Another birthday snuck up on us this year!! Age 3 might be my very favorite birthday to celebrate. Lola was so adorable and was talking about her birthday for days before. She was set on having a unicorn birthday (let's not talk about the cake this year) and I think we met her expectations. Helping mix up and bake the cake may have been her favorite even, especially since I meant wearing her apron and being able to help with every, single, step. You have to be pretty careful when Lola is helping you cook or bake in the kitchen. You can't turn your back on her or there's not telling what extra step she'll have made. =) We had such a fun time celebrating with our friends and loving on her all day long. She got to have birthday breakfast, open a present before school, hang out with me all day and then party in the evening! She was pretty tickled to be the center of attention and have so much social stimulation from her friends.
I keep wondering if Lola will turn on us, people keep telling us that she will. But for now we couldn't love the sweet bundle that she is. She still loves mom the most, but will snuggle with just about anyone. She loves friends and everything girly including pink, which I think she believes belongs to her. No one else can like pink. She's an awesome eater, will eat just about anything from fish tacos to her absolute favorite applesauce. If she spies an applesauce pouch, you might as well give it to her to subside her unrelenting request to eat it. While she can play by herself, she loves playing with her brothers and being around other people. She wants to be in the action or go where the action is going and not be left behind. Naps have become few and far between, maybe one a week, so we are working on quiet play time in her room. Interestingly, she is my kid that needs the least amount of sleep and is one of the first ones awake in the morning. If she takes a nap, she is perky and even happier, but then has endless energy in the evening. She sings constantly making up her own songs or mashing up words from different songs. She's loves ballerinas and has currently asked for a ballerina costume from Santa. Summersaults have become easy for her and she is becoming more independent asking to do many things on her own. She has retained her sweet disposition and only gets grumpy when she's hungry or maybe if it's been several days without a nap. But both of those problems can be easily remedied.
Lola lights up our family and continues to be the healing blessing and source of so much love, happiness and giggles in our family. She is so excited about Baby Tad and is always rubbing my tummy, lifting up my shirt to give him kisses and loves. Since we washed the baby clothes, she lines up an outfit in his jumped and then scoops up the clothes and hugs them as tight as she can. She will be the best helper and very involved big sister.
