The week of the wedding, I had scheduled a couple of appointments at Primary Children's Hospital. It was time for Brewer to have his year check up with Dr. Williams and we were anxious to have Baby Tad's fetal echo. Oh, Baby Tad...side note. Ever since Steve's family came up to visit, Lola started calling our growing baby boy, Baby Tad. It stuck and we have all been calling him that, although Phil and I are pretty sure that won't be his real name. =) Baby's Tad appointment was on Tuesday and I was feeling awfully anxious about it, maybe even experiencing some symptoms of PTSD. If I could keep it out of my thoughts, I was in good shape, but if anyone brought it up, I was kind of a mess for a few days. I desperately wanted a healthy boy. Phil was a great sport and kept Lola and Boyd until he was able to come down to Utah a few days later, he was swamped with work after being gone for a week fishing. I loved the one on one time I got with Brewer for those few days.
The appointment for Baby Tad went great. The cardiologist reassured me that everything looked awesome and there was no chance that this kid would have a serious heart defect. I'm sure he was laughing on the inside by all the questions I was asking and could tell that I didn't quite trust what he was saying. After he lovingly and patiently answered all my questions, I was so relieved and felt a big burden from off my shoulders.
Brew's appointment was the next day and he sailed through it like a champ! His ultrasound tech was so fun, called himself batman, gave him cars and was engaging the whole time. (He was the same tech that I had the day before). Brewer of course showed off his skills of being the best patient ever and was rewarded with some awesome matchbox cars. Dr. Williams looked him over and was happy with his health and how everything looked! Woot Woot!! On the way out of the hospital I was feeling al little hungry and told Brewer that we could stop by a Wendy's and get a frosty on the way home, but as we were leaving he asked if we could just get something at the little cafe the hospital has. We went over and looked at our options and Brewer quickly picked out a veggie tray with ranch dip. Such a funny kid. So we both got veggies to eat on the way home rather than ice cream.
