Why is it so awesome to celebrate our kids!? I love it when their birthdays roll around, they're magical and filled with so much love and excitement. Boyd enter double digits this year. TEN! We were so excited to celebrate his day and had a lot of fun things planned. For his birthday he got a dirt bike, which he is loving!! I will admit that when he first got on it, he presented a bit of his mom's timid side, but now he rips pretty good on it. The sad part of the story (only for Mom and Dad) is that Brewer ruined the surprise by seeing the dirt bike in the garage and then telling Boyd what he was getting for his birthday before everyone was up and ready to see Boyd's reaction. But either way, Boyd was excited for his awesome gift!
Later that morning we headed to Rexburg and met up with the Struttmann's at Gravity Factory. Boyd and Kennady still share a birthday ;) so it's always twice as fun when we get to celebrate together. After everyone had enough jumping we headed in town for some pizza. The kids get along so well we hardly have to watch them or be worried about what they are up to. They are all such good kids!! Then it was back to home to prep tailgating food. There was a Jazz game and a BYU game on that night, so Boyd asked for a tailgating party. The Wilson's and Struttmann's came over and the only reason the night could have gone better was if our teams would have won! Oh well, the company and birthday kiddos were the highlight!
We can't believe that it has been 10 years since Boyd made us parents. Boyd loves life and is excited about the adventures we go on. From time to time I see myself in him, for example he's a little more timid at trying new and daring things. But thankfully he has an awesome Dad that encourages him to push himself. He's a great student and we are so proud of the way that he works hard at the things he sets his mind to. Boyd likes school and says he's having the his best year yet with the best teacher yet! There is a lot of science happening in his class which he loves so much. His brain is thirsty for more and more information and constantly is thinking and asking questions. In class he is being pushed with writing and critical thinking, which has been a new challenge for him, but as he learns the skills for that I'm excited to see his knowledge grow even more.
What we are most proud of Boyd at school is that way that he is a friend to everyone. He doesn't fit into one group of friends, but can hang with everyone. He also has a desire to do what's right and is learning how to use the repentance process which makes my heart swell! Recently he has a desire to read the Book of Mormon and we are excited to help him in that journey. We are so grateful for him and the patient way he still loves us while we try our best at parenting.
Excellente! Perfecto!
