Halloweeeeeen

Halloween came went!! Well it came and then it stayed for a while. Thankfully this year was easy on the costumes. Everyone knew what they wanted to be and were happy with what we were able to come up with. Although, I'm not sure I was totally happy with Phil's costume--gave me the creeps. ;) Our kids got more than enough of the Halloween festivities, MD Nursery Fall festival and the school Fall festival both while we were gone. The Saturday before Halloween we had a trunk or treat with friends, which is so much fun and a favorite tradition! Monday for FHE we carved pumpkins. Props to our parents who did that every year with us, with more kids and always seemed to happy about it! Ha! Boyd did his pumpkin, the idea, the pattern and cutting it out all by himself, which was awesome! Lola did NOT want to clean her pumpkin out, but seemed please with the way he ballerina turned out. Phil teamed up with Brewer and together they had a great and new idea for a Jazz pumpkin. Brewer loved it because it involved using power tools, ha ha!
Halloween I went and helped throw a party in Brewer's class where they played bingo, roll-a-skeleton and made a Frankenstein pudding cup. After that it was the Halloween parade and trick or treating on main. Phew!!!! This year it snowed most of the day, which made us walk a little faster and finish a little sooner. For dinner that night we grabbed some food at Big Hole BBQ and spent some time with Grandma Great in Victor. Lastly, finally, we hit up a couple of house for some regular, door to door, trick or treating. Our favorite house is always the Birch's where they give out cans of soda and whole sized candy bars. Brewer especially loves it because he can count on getting a can of root beer. By the time we got home it was only 8 o'clock or so, but man were we tired. Actually I think just Phil and I were tired. But by 8:30 our kids were in bed and shut off our lights and enjoyed sitting on the couch together in the dark. =)
