Trying to play a little catch up here... The week before valentines' Day was CHD awareness week. One day during that week was national wear red day for heart diseases and CHDs. We posted on Facebook and instagram and the boys and I got ready all wearing red. They were both so handsome. I was at school for Boyd's lunch and it was so fun to see some of Boyd's friends dressed up wearing red to show support! It really melt my heart!!! So much in fact that I had to take a picture of them!
The following week Boyd's school was doing a reading competition. There would be a winner from each class, an overall class that would win and one top reader in the school. Boyd was determined to be the top reader in his class and he worked really hard at it. I was so proud of him. He wasn't just reading books that were easy for either. Or short books. He even picked Go, Dog, Go! which is REALLY long!! Because I help in Boyd's class I noticed a few of Boyd's friends that we pretty far ahead of him. I told Boyd that he could keep at it, but if he didn't win, he could be happy for his friend. So he kept at it. I actually really loved that week because it meant that Boyd and I got to spend a lot of quality time together doing what we both love.
The day of the assembly to announce the winners I was let in on the surprise that Boyd was the top reader for his class. I was so surprised and happy for him and made sure to go to the assembly. They announced his name as the top reader for Ms. Brinkerhoff's class and I have to admit that I was a little emotional with pride. Then they announced from the group of top readers the top reader in the school and it was a kindergartener...it was BOYD!!! I couldn't even believe it!!! I tried my best not to cry but my heart was bursting for him. He was so happy and I was happy that all his hard work had paid off even more than he thought it would. He is such a stud! I just love that kid!
Oh yeah....I also pulled Boyd out of school one day to ski. That was fun!!!
