Birthday Weekend

This quite possibly was my favorite get-a-way/vacation of the summer! Maybe because it was full of so many things I love so much, the first of which was Phil whose birthday we were celebrating that weekend. Secondly, Beth came and surprised Phil. He had no idea that she was coming and we couldn't wait to show what we love so much about where we live! Third, Grand Teton National Park and Signal Mountain. We love camping there, it's pretty quiet and the scenery does not get better in my opinion. Then there is the camping, boating, paddle boarding, and yummy food.
The spots at signal mountain are first come first serve, so I set off extremely early and drove the 1 1/2 over to the camp group and snagged up three spots for us and friends. It was completely crazy and I felt like I belonged on the Amazing Race. After that task, I'm not sure I would be up for that show. Then I drove back home and hooked up the pop-up, finished packing and we waiting for Beth to come! Hurray! What an awesome surprise. Everyone loaded up, I hauled the pop-up and Phil hauled the boat over the pass and over to Jackson. The Wilson's and Struttmann's came later that day and camped near us, which was the perfect spot to hike down Jackson Lake and enjoy the sunset. We had a blast that weekend, boating, wake boarding, swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking for the kids and just hanging out in the sun. Saturday more friends came for the day and we all hung out together and had a great time! That night we all had dinner together and made a giant paazookie cooked in the dutch oven to celebrate Phil's bday. It was a blast!! Sunday we headed home and continued the bday celebration with german chocolate frosting and more birthday singing. This is definitely a trip I want to do again!!
