Literally right after my half marathon, we rushed to the Provo airport and hopped on a plane to Arizona to make it to Taryn and Sawyer's baptism! It was so wonderful to see so much family! Grandma and Grandpa Thelin came from Oregon and we saw all the Schindler's as well! The weather was so warm too that it made for such a fun little get-a-way. The baptism was awesome and the company and food after at Justin's house was great! The kids loved being able to play with their cousins, eat ice cream, and run around without clothes. The pool was definitely a perk too! Besides the baptism we didn't do anything that was too crazy! Ashley and I went for a mountain bike ride along the canal and through some corn fields. That was great and beautiful and fun way to see Arizona. We ate out a couple of times at some really good restaurants and of course had sweedish pancakes too! We were able to visit with the Schindler's a few times are their house, which was just a couple (big) blocks away and have a yummy breakfast and enjoy time catching up! A favorite activity, especially for my boys was scorpion hunting at night. It was pretty neat to use the black light to find them and the Justin's huge torch to blast them. We were even able to catch one and then they actually fought each other. Craziness. I wish I would have blogged about this sooner because I'm sure I would have more memories! Overall, we had such a wonderful time and were so grateful for Justin and Ashley who are such great hosts and we love them and their family so much!! One last thing to remember about this trip was the flight home. Oh heavens. We were deplaned because of a security breech, then moved to 3 different terminals and had to stand out on the tarmac for a very long time in over 100 degree weather! Oh, and Phil had his pirate leg that he was hobbling around on too. It was insanity, but we survived and treated ourselves to Cafe Rio when we got back to Provo. =)
