We finally got our 4th of July Moulton camping celebration this year! It was really great!! We pulled our pop-up over to Roy's and set up camp for a few days. Grandma, Pop Pop and Quinton were able to come as well as Amy's family! It was a great time. The food was fabulous. Each meal was prepared by a different family, we took the first night and Phil started everyone off on the right foot. It was awesome! We helped with a breakfast too cooked by Pop Pop and Uncle Roy. Nothing better than Moulton's and their sour dough pancakes. A great way to remember Grandpa Great too!! Phil also brought his home cured bacon. That was a huge hit as well. Enough about the food, the people were just as great too!! The adults had a fun time catching up, sitting around the fire and watching all the kids enjoy their freedom and play around. The kids never stopped. They fished, road dirt bikes, shot guns, and climbed in and out of the Rhino.
I think Brewer's favorite part was riding our little 50cc dirt bike. He never wanted to get off and said when he finally did, "My hands are buzzing!" Boyd's favorite had to be fishing and being able to hang out with Emmett and the older kids (aka Sean's boys and Jack and Eric). It was fun to watch those good boys look after Boyd and let him join in on their fun. Phil and Clark got to go to town one morning for breakfast and meet their friends, Dane, Jordan, and Garrett who flew up just for that. I'm sure those boys had such a fun time reminiscing over the old times they had together. Of course we went to the parade in Victor and enjoyed delicious food at the Brakeman and milkshakes at the Emporium. Our kids are getting old enough (well almost) that they can sit by themselves and manage the table and talk alone. That's pretty awesome in my eyes! A not so fun memory of the trip were the mosquitos. Man, they were bad. But thankfully, Uncle Roy borrowed a fogger from the city that he hooked to his four wheeler and sprayed morning and evening. It would have been miserable without it. Lola, on the other hand, came victim to the mosquitos regardless and for some reason they LOVED her eyes. She only got bit a couple of times, but her poor eyes swelled up so much it nearly shut. Thankfully she was a good sport about it, she just looked so sad!
We had such a great time and can't wait until next year! Hopefully we were all good enough company that Roy and Kayleen will keep up such an awesome tradition!
