While we were in Utah, Phil and I celebrated our 11th anniversary. The stars have not quite aligned for unforgettable anniversaries, but that's not what they're for right? But we did get to leave our kids and get dinner and dessert. It was really nice to go out, just the two of us. For the past...almost two years that's been rather tricky for one reason or another. Besides enjoying each other's company we also enjoyed really good food. Phil picked Communal for dinner and a yummy ice cream parlor for dessert. Dinner was amazing, all the food was so good. It was a toss up between the steak and the cookie butter ice cream as to which was my favorite. Ice cream isn't my favorite thing, but I could eat cookie butter ice cream every single day.
A couple other note worthy activities was hiking the Y with Boyd, Beth, Clark, Amy and Emmett. I had never hiked the Y before and I loved it! It was a lot of fun and I loved sharing in that kind of experience with Boyd. He was a trooper on the way up and even more of a trooper on the way down. We ran together on and off and by the end his poor little legs were hot and itchy. It was quite hilarious watching him do a sort of little dance or jig at the end in an attempt to itch his legs. Also while we were there sweet Norah Beth was blessed. We were so glad to be able to be a part of her special day and loved being gathered once again around family.
