TEN months

Another month has slipped by and to be honest it was a rough one! There were a few weeks especially that Lola was so sad and not sleeping well because she was sick and teething. She added FOUR new teeth, bringing the total up to ten. She cut her bottom two molars as well as two more on the bottom, the lateral incisors.
This past month she has added a new word to the mix, "uh-oh" or "uh-buuuu" as Lola says it. It's so cute and she definitely uses it in the right context. We also got her a new sippy cup that she can use all by herself even thought it's nearly as big as her whole face. But it's teaching her how to drink out of a real cup and pretty cool.
Lola is also starting to occasionally take a longer morning nap which is resulting in only two naps during the day and a little bit earlier bed time. It's great!! And I'm hoping to have her totally switched to two naps by the end of the month. I'd also like her to get back to sleeping through the night. =)
She's getting closer to crawling. By closer I mean, she's seems to be a tiny bit motivated now. But it's only brief. If she tries to crawl it's usually to the "pirate crawl" position and then she pancakes on her tummy. After a minute there she acts like a beached whale and starts to cry until someone rescues her. =) The worst part of it all is that she can't or won't roll on to her back from her tummy. She's a funny girl. We're working on all of and I would guess she'll have it figured out in another months' time.
There are a few more new tricks that she can do. Waving is her best one and does the whole arm wave as well as the hand opening and closing, essentially waving to herself. The latter is my favorite. She also does a little game with Phil whenever she's eating. Phil will do a cute little "a chugga chugga choo choo, chugga chugga" and Lola will wave her hand and arm side to side, clutching whatever she's eating with the biggest grin on her face. Lola is also getting better at giving kisses and thinks playing peek-a-boo is pretty fun too. The most recent trick she has discovered is pulling herself up to her knees around a table or chair. She seems pretty impressed with herself whenever she manages that one. Lastly, and certainly as cute as all her other tricks is dancing. She has caught the little dancing bug and bobs up and down whenever she hears a catchy beat. It's darling and I need to catch it on camera while she's still so little!

Brooklyn does the same pancake tummy thing! She sits up, slowly folds over while reaching for something, ends up on her tummy and then cries because she won't just roll over or actually crawl. It's so silly. Lola is seriously so cute!
