I’m a little late
this month in fact over a month behind. Sadly I didn't even get a picture of Lola with her cute bunny this month. We were busy with family activities and then it seemed like Lola was sick for the entire month!! However, that didn’t
stop our little Lola Girl from turning 9 months old!! Over the past month she
cut two more teeth, bringing her up to 6, which is a mouthful! The two teeth were both top teeth, the ones on either side of the middle front. She didn’t love
getting the new teeth and to be honest I didn’t either. This month she’s eating
a ton of new food and handling everything really well. The only things were not
really letting her have is dairy, peanuts or peanut butter and eggs.
She still doesn’t
love being on her belly, which may be why she doesn’t seem too close to
crawling. But honestly, that’s fine with me!! I’m in no hurry to have her
crawling around! She’s still pretty happy to be sitting on her bum and will
play with the toys that are close to her. If there is something a little
further away she’ll reach for it. Some times that results with her ending up on
her tummy and sometimes she just gives up. I guess it just depends on how much
she wants it!! She still loves the jumper and is in it at least one a day,
usually before or after a meal while we prepare or clean up in the kitchen.
While she still
isn’t a great napper, usually only sleeping for 45 minutes, she goes down for a
nap really well. At night before bed, she gets a bottle as a supplement and
will hold it all on her own until it’s gone. However she hasn’t mastered
holding the sippy all by herself. She hasn’t quite figured out that it needs to
be tipped up.
Since we’ve been
in Oregon she’s tolerated being held by so many different people. Most of the
time she’s happy, but always looking for mom. Mom is her favorite. She still
saying “da da” and has added “ma ma” to the mix, but I’m not really sure she
knows who or what “ma ma” means. Besides loving her mom, she loves her brothers
and always smiles really big when they sing songs to her or play with her. She loves
being tossed in the air as well. During naps her love for her face blanket
takes over, although I know she would still prefer her mom.
All in all, Lola has
kept up with her sweet and easy going personality. We are so grateful for the
love that exudes from her and warms all our hearts. She is one special little
girl that captures everyone’s hearts.
