HONEYMAN

Honeyman was bumped up a bit this year so that Justin and Ashley's family would be able to come. As always the best part was just being all together with very little distractions. Unfortunately it rained some of the time, but the boys used their ingenuity and skills to hang tarps from the trees. It resulted in an impassively large rain-free zone. All the cousins had a great time playing together. They do a really good job of looking out for each other, especially looking after the younger ones. Lola was happy and all in all it was a great weekend. I think the high light of the trip for me was watching our kids play. Boyd was old enough to go off and play on his own and with the big kids, which he loved. Brewer was excited to cruise around on his bike and play in the sand. And Lola loved the sand. It was so cute to watch her grab it and then watch it slip between her fingers. She would push it back and forth with her hand and legs. Thankfully she never tried to eat it. The best part was when she would fold in half and lay her entire face in the sand. When she came up, the sand was stuck all over and she didn't mind one bit. It was pretty hilarious. Another highlight was the wand ceremony. Justin came up with a clever idea and each kid had a little wizard biography read about them, complete with wizard talents, likes and dislikes, a patronus, an animagus and wizard name. After the biography was read and the wizard was revealed, that person then got to choose their wand or rather the wand chose them. The kids loved it and it was pretty neat to hear about different quarks and talents they had. If I can find Boyd and Brewer's bio, I'll include it later. Sadly, the trip ended with saying goodbye to Justin and Ashley who were off on their adventure in Arizona. It was sad, but thankfully they're only a few states away.
