Oregon 2013 ~ Pre-Honeyman

After our stop in Salt Lake we immediately left for Oregon. We met up with Phil's parents north of Salt Lake to pick up Boyd. He spent the morning and afternoon with them so we wouldn't have to drag him around the hospital and expose him to what Brewer had to go through. We were very grateful that they were willing to keep him and meet up with us on the road. The kids really did so well on the drive. Brewer had a couple hours of being grumpy, but considering our drive was 12 hours, he did great! And Boyd did awesome too! Around 8 PM or so the kids went to sleep and it was pretty peaceful from then on. Like always, Phil did amazing on the drive while I struggled to stay awake from the lack of sleep from the night before.
Being in Oregon for a total of two weeks was pretty great. I didn't feel like it was such a whirlwind to cram everything and everyone in to the trip. I did miss out on seeing a few friends due to a sick and grumpy Brewer, but it was overall a great trip. We were able to do so much I've divided our trip up into three parts, Pre-Honeyman, Honeyman, and Post-Honeyman.
Saturday morning we enjoyed time with Jeremy's family since that's where we were staying and Grandpa even came over and spent the rest of the day there too! Later we ventured down to Nea's and spent time playing outside. Boyd had a ball with all his cousins while Brewer didn't like all the attention. He preferred to play totally on his own. That evening we went out to a big party at a barn where all of the family was. Boyd even got to ride a mechanical bull.
Sunday we went to church with my parents and Jade. I was able to see a lot of old friends and even Lacey.  Then we spent the rest of the day with family at the Neff's eating good food and catching up. Monday we headed out to Fenchman's Bar just over the river in Washington and Tuesday Phil went golfing with Nipper and Grandpa and later we celebrated Trenton's birthday at Justin's. We also hit up the Nike Employee store, thanks to the Ronningen's and Phil was able to eat out at Helvetia Tavern after golf. It was a fun-filled packed couple of days!!
