Signal Mountain ~ Jackson Lake

The end of July brought our annual Signal Mountain campout. A few days before the weekend, Steve's family came up to play before we all headed over to camp. We floated the river, did some mountain biking, went to Music on Main and just had fun hanging out. Friday morning, Cassie Kunz and I headed over the mountains and snagged 5 camping spots. It was a little crazy, but we got spots on our favorite look, but not the awesome handicapped spots we had the previous year.
We had a little bad weather a couple of times, just a little rain, but it was fine and just makes it an even more grand adventure. Beth and Brennen also came up on Saturday, which made everyone so happy, especially the kids--they idolize those two. This year we also had some friends who brought a boat. Both Boyd and Brewer got up on skis which was pretty dang awesome. They had a board that is connected together allowing getting up super easy. I was proud of Brewer for trying and succeeding. Riggs was a camp too, sleeping well at night and only fighting the naps a little. Poor Lola got bit by a mosquito and it swelled her eye shut again. She also got a bite on her ankle and that one really bothered her. She said her leg/foot hurt when she would walk and her ankle was pretty swollen, but she was a tough little cookie.
Sunday we checked out of camp and headed over to the lodge for church. I'm not sure we'll do that again...it was PACKED this year. We couldn't even sit in the room, we sat in the hallway, but at least we got to take the sacrament. After the sacrament and because we couldn't hear anything from the hall, we left and popped out back to enjoy the incredible scenery. Then it was on to Phelps lake to hike to the cliff and jump the 25 feet in to the frigid water. Boyd jumped this year with the help and encouragement of Brennen. I too, was able to jump for the first time because the previous year I was pregnant with Riggs. It was definitely the highest cliff I had ever jumped by more than double. Phew! It was fun to hang out and watch everyone take their turns, especially Steve who did some cool jumps and got good reactions from the crowd that was there.
Sadly, Brew was not feeling well in the night. We were sure that it was dehydration from the weekend. He had woken up during the night crying and wailing that he was so thirsty. On our hike he threw up a few times and I ended up packing him on my back for some time which meant someone else, I think Rachel, packed Riggs. We made the best of it and Brew was a good sport to feel so miserable and continue on. He slept in to Jackson and after he got some food in to him and some pop he started feeling better. One of these trips we will do better and not have any of our kids struggling so much!

PS (again) Still need to add more pictures from my phone...that didn't get uploaded on to the computer.
