Sun Valley

I think when I skip two epic events of the year on the blog, it means I'm officially too far behind on my blog. I also don't think that this has ever happened.

Since it's been over 5 months since this awesome vacation and family reunion, I can't remember too many of the details. Phil worked in the mornings and I took the boys skiing. They loved it, even after they both had pretty great falls. Boyd got a ton of air on a big jump and lost all his gear. He was a bit timid after that but I was proud of him for getting back up and doing more runs. Brewer had the jumping itch and would jump right before going over jumps to get more air. It was pretty cute, but then he caught an edge one time and that ended that. The best part was skiing with our cousins, Emmett, Caroline, Claire and Weston. We are still very much in the teaching and learning phase with our kids, but it will be so much fun when they are old enough to go ski off by themselves and on big runs with the adults!

While we were in Sun Valley, the Olympics were taking place. We watched them here and there but the real highlight were the olympic games that Aunt Amy came up with for everyone. She had multiple events that involved using our physical skill and our brains. It was definitely the most fun for Boyd, Emmett and Brewer which made it fun for the rest of us to watch them compete at the different events. The family also played an epic game of Pie Face. Caroline's reaction was probably the best and despite our best efforts, coaxing and bribing, we couldn't convince Lola to play, it looked too traumatic to her.

The other classic traditions held up with sledding, bowling and swimming. Swimming may be the favorite of all my kids activities, Lola and Brewer the very most. It was a fun year at the pool as all the kid are getting older and more playful. It was a great Sun Valley year, but we did miss Grayson's family and were sad they weren't able to make it!
