Boyd's BAPTISM

I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that we have a child who has been baptized! How did he get so old!? How did we reach this amazing benchmark! Honestly, leading up to the baptism I felt a little overwhelmed. Not for the actual baptism, but worrying if we had done enough, if I had done enough, to teach Boyd and prepare him for such a special event. But the day came and I couldn't have asked for anything better, more peaceful and beautiful. I am so grateful for everyone who came so far to support Boyd. We had family from Oregon, as I mentioned in the previous post, but we also had so much family from Phil's side come from Utah: Grandma and Pop Pop, Steve's family, Quinton, and Nate & Oakley. Plus we had family from the valley, Grandma Great, Roy and Kayleen. Some of Boyd's friends and their families came as well, the Boogaards, Calderwoods, Wilson, Penfolds, brother Walked who conducted from our Bishopric and I'm sure I'm forgetting others! It was such a testament of love and support and the fact that it takes a village to raise a child. We are so grateful for the wonderful village that has helped us raise Boyd so far!! They are amazing. As all our friends and family came, they had the chance to sign in, by marking their favorite scripture in his new set of scriptures that he was receiving that day. Such a special way to remember everyone who was there!! We also pre-marked scriptures for family members that wanted to be there, but couldn't. We love our family so much!

Quinton played the piano, Nate led the music, both grandpas prayed and acted as the witness for the baptism. Grandma Moulton spoke on baptism and Grandma Thelin spoke on the holy Ghost. Phil of course, baptized Boyd and confirmed him with all the men in attendance surrounding him in the circle with lots of love. What a sweet and special day!! I just can't get over how perfect it was!! We did not decorate or plan anything fancy and I know not focusing on extra fluff helped me to really enjoy the day!!

After the baptism everyone was invited back to our house and we crammed in and ate really yummy breakfast, baked french toast and mountain man egg casserole. I have to say, it was one of the best breakfasts I've had! It also could have just been the high I was on from such a special day too! Thank you everyone for helping and coming to support our family. We love you!

And to Boyd: Thank you Boyd for being such an amazing boy. You truly have so many gifts that have been given to you by our Heavenly Father, it's easy to see your divinity! Keep that desire to do what's right and to please those around you! And don't every forget to always strive to please your Heavenly Father!! We love you so much and are so grateful we get to be your parents!
