Grandma & Grandpa Thelin AND Henry

Towards the end of January we had some very special visitors come to Driggs. Grandma and Grandpa Thelin & Henry Neff! It was very exciting! I loaded all three kids up and we went to Jackson to pick them up! It was a car full once everyone was loaded but it was full with our favorite people!! On the way back in to Jackson we ate our lunch we brought along and stopped at the tourist center to get ready for the Elk Refuge tour. We took Grandpa for his 70th birthday that was coming up! And lucky for us, we were able to score Meredith as our tour guide who is in our ward back in Driggs. It was wonderful. Everyone had a really great time! Lola slept on Grandpa's lap for nearly the who ride and even Brewer and Henry dozed off here and there! Okay, so maybe just the true-blue animal lovers loved the sleigh ride through all the elk. Meredith unfolded so much information to us about Elk, really everything you could want to know. He also answered so many of the questions we shot at him too. We even saw an Elk who's antlers scored about a 390, which out of 400 only come around 1 in 10,000. That was pretty neat! After the tour, we headed over to the other side of the Elk Refuge and drove along the road to look for mountain sheep and any other animals we might find. We did see some sheep, as well as more elk and bald eagles. It was a great time!! On our way back we met up with Phil in Victor, who just got done going for a ride on his timbersled, and we ate dinner at Wildlife.
The next day we spent prepping a bit for the Boyd's baptism and popped over to check out the snow sculptures. They weren't too impressive this year since it just kept snowing and snowing. Hard to get a good picture of them at their best. Really we just all loved being together and getting to experience some good Driggs winter fun. Saturday was the baptism, which will be included in the next post, and after that was over Phil headed over with Grandpa to Uncle Roy's to go for a ride in the power parachute! Another great Driggs adventure. At some point we saw a moose running along the road too! On the other nights we went to the Brakeman and to Agave for dinner, which was nice not to have to prepare so much at home and just get to enjoy everyone! We were so very happy to have so much family come support Boyd at his baptism! It's so special when family comes and visits us in the place we call home and that we love so much!
