Saturday morning was shaping up to be pretty normal until about 830. Phil started complaining about some abdominal pain and by 930 we both thought, he was in some serious trouble and most likely had appendicitis. We opted to go to the Driggs emergency room, which we usually avoid if we can, but this time it really was an emergency. Phil was quickly diagnosed with a kidney stone and was given a pain killer through an IV to help him manage the pain. Once those took effect, he was in a lot better shape, but not pain free. I was able to call my wonderful friend Tiffany and she came up to the house to watch my kids for a little while we figured out things at the hospital. Phil's CT scan showed the stone (2mm) and showed that it was almost to the bladder. After about 4 hours from when the pain started, the stone passed into his bladder and the pain and pressure was gone and we went home. 6 hours after that he passed the stone and just had to recover from the trauma of the experience. We both felt so grateful that the whole experiences was relatively quick. It takes some people days to pass a stone and it took Phil just shy of 12 hours. Hopefully Phil doesn't have to go through that again, but at least now he will be able to recognize the symptoms and hopefully we won't have to go to the emergency room again.

Jade totally felt for Phil. So, SO glad it went fast. What a blessing. I'm glad he is feeling well again. Kidney stones are horrible!
