Our New Fence

Phil set his mind to building our fence Saturday afternoon. We got all the supplies and things seemed to moving actually faster than we thought they would. He got all of the posts cemented in and the 2x4's hung before we knew it. Okay, it was getting pretty late and when we started we figured we would only be able to get this far and we could finish the rest on Monday. However, seeing as it was ONLY 10:30, Phil and his determination decided to keep working.  It was about midnight before he got all the panels up and he called it a day.  He was able to finish  everything except the gate, which he finished Monday. I have to admit, that I have a very handy and hard working husband. I am very thankful for him.
This picture was taken at the middle stages of building. It was already about 10:30 at night and Phil just couldn't stop.
I think Remy was beginning to get the idea of what her life was going to become at this point.
And here is the finished project. Beautiful, isn't it?
We are very excited for our plans for our backyard and I guess our entire house. According to Phil, my next project is painting the baby's room. This has proved to be a rather difficult task for me. I change my mind every day of what I want to paint, so we'll see how long it takes before that project can be checked off our list.
As for Phil, his next project is running two more sprinkler lines, laying sod, and paving a small area with stone in our backyard. We are so grateful that we have these projects to keep us busy and active.

Way to go Phil...actually I am not suprised you did such a great job. I am sure you learned a lot of handy man skills working around Grandpa each summer. Or at least you learned how ram a fence with a motorized vehicle. ;) haha kidding..Grandpa was super handy and I am sure you are a lot like him! I think it's fitting you name your son Boyd! I think that as for a theme for Boyd's Nusery you should honor grandpa even more and go with red donkeys and a Rush poster ;) Ohh and don't forget the AM radio...:)

lots of love! Can't wait to see what you decide on the nursery paint colors!

Nice fence. Remi probably hates it though. Maybe you should drill some peep holes for her.

WOW, I am going to tell Derrald about this. he is the LEAST handy man born on this earth. He would make me do it and it would take me 40 years. If you ever road trip through NC have Phil stop and build something for us.
