Thanksgiving 2015

Thanksgiving this year was a little crazy but fun to see so much family. Phil had a check up with Dr. Rothberg the week of Thanksgiving in Utah and he brought Beth back with him! It was great fun to have Beth staying with us for a few days that week. Everyone loved it, the boys and especially Lola! Phil planned to smoke a turkey on his new Traeger and ended up doing two instead. Smoking is always a lot fun. Phil's has taught himself a lot about smoking and has gotten really good at it. He was excited to use his new smoker and I always love helping him. We also made creamed corn and scotcheroo's to take too. Oh and a cheesecake, but we didn't make that. Phil picked on up in Utah from an old friends bakery. It was so yummy!!
The night before Thanksgiving we drove down with Nate and Beth to Aunt Renea's to have pie night. It's a great idea!! You have lots of pie the night before when you aren't so full from dinner on Thanksgiving day. It was great to see family there and to show of Lola. It's also been good for Phil to be able to see everyone who has been praying for him and to be able to share his story and testimony too.
Late morning we headed back down to Idaho Falls. I was pretty tired, between Lola and helping Phil with the turkey I hadn't had much sleep. But it was all for a good cause. I forgot how much work it can be traveling with a baby, or at least it comes with a consequence because their schedule gets a little messed up and they end up sleeping a lot more. The food at Aunt Nae's was wonderful. Mel and James were there as well at Jenny's family, Webb's family and Caroline's. It was a full house, but the very best kind. Dinner was amazing and the company was great. Before it got too late in the day, we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Monson's to see that clan. Again it was good to show off Lola and for Phil to see family he hadn't seen in so long. We didn't stay too long because I didn't want Lola to have another bad night.
Steve and Rachel stayed with us for a night and it's always so much fun to have them and for our kids to play together! The next day all the girls helped me pack up so much of my house and the guys helped Phil haul a ton of stuff over to the garage. We were pretty worthless, but so excited to be moving out of the condo at Buffalo Valley. Just prior to Thanksgiving, Targhee employees had moved back in and the place was busy again. We wanted to move out so badly, and then two places opened up for rent in our old ward. It was a little miracle or answer to my prayers. =) And it was an answer to prayers that we had so much help. While Phil's family was there we were able to pack and move a lot of things over to the garage. I was so grateful.
Over the course of the next week I kept packing and started cleaning. I was impressed with what I was able to do on my own to get ready. Close to the first of December, Phil, Nate and Nate Penfold came during the day and moved more furniture and any more boxes that I had ready. There wasn't much left after that. I had some good girl friends come over and they finished helping me clean what was left, basically the kitchen and the master bedroom. It was amazing and together we worked fast and got so much done. I don't know why we have such dear friends, but they truly are the best. Then later that day some more guy friends moved our couch out and then hauled everything in the new house from the garage to it's proper room. There was no way we would have been able to do it on our own, but it's so wonderful to be back in a house, especially one as great as this and with a garage!
