If you don't want to read anything in this post, just be sure to scroll down to the pictures of Brewer and Claire. Those little stinkers are too cute.
SUN VALLEY 2014
Sun Valley is always a wonderful time and even though the snow wasn't great, this year was even more fun. Phil's family is so fun to be around. We don't have to be doing much to have a good time. There were a few things that made this year even better. The first was that Boyd and especially Brewer were older. Brewer had a great a time just being somewhere new and doing all the new things. Plus Brewer is a better sleeper which makes everything better. Boyd had fun skiing and could look forward to all the activities we had planned. Secondly, Nate was there! We missed him over the past two years, Sun Valley wasn't quite the same without him. Third, the Moulton's brought their family friend Hannah, who was a great addition to all our fun. Lastly and maybe the biggest reason why Sun Valley was so fun his year was the memories we made at the pool! Boyd has always loved swimming and can get around with a life jacket (swimming lessons are in his near future) but Brewer absolutely loved it. After our first dip in the pool we realized we had failed in bringing floatation devices for Brewer. He was wild and had no fear. After a little searching, we found a store that was able to dig some water wings out of their summer inventory. It was awesome and Brewer loved them.
As it is every year, just about everyone went skiing, I was even able to sneak aways and skate ski during Brewer's naps. Amy, or rather Dad opted for her to not ski because she was pregnant and I didn't end up downhill skiing either because the conditions were not great. Keeping with tradition we made many trips to the pool and bowled the night Grandma and Grandpa Monson were up. Dad won the Sun Valley Cup with a pretty incredible score, which included a Turkey. And as always we went sledding Sunday afternoon. This year was the best sledding year to date. Surprisingly Brewer loved going fast down the hill. We have some pretty adorable film of his face during a few runs. Steve also hike to the top of the mountain and flew down within seconds. I think most of us, or maybe just the women, were happy that he didn't get hurt.
It's sort of funny to see how our activities have begun to change. Not that we do different things, but that we do them differently because of our young kids. It will be even more fun when all our kids get a little older and play better with each other. This trip, Brewer and Claire spent more time having side by side play which is just too cute. The pictures that were taken of them while we were sledding are beyond adorable in my opinion. And Boyd and Emmett continued to wrestle and have together. Family is amazing. I have to say that I am grateful that the gospel of Jesus Christ is centered first around Christ and then second on families. Our families are so important to us and we are so grateful for the wonderful relationships that we have with them.
