Halloween

I really love Halloween where we live. There are a handful of things to do over the weeks and it brings the whole community together. The first activity we did was headed over to MD Nursery for their Fall Festival. They had wagon rides, tons of games, face painting, and a costume parade. Boyd and I actually just went by ourselves while Brewer had a nap and Phil watch the BYU football game. IT was really nice to have that one on one time with Boyd. It was weird and quiet not chasing around Brewer. Boyd had a good time and did some pumpkin bowling, pumpkin throwing, pumpkin painting and did the costume parade. We even saw some of our friends there!
The next Halloween activity we did was the school halloween festival. We were all able to go to that one and it was the first time that Brewer was dressed up in his full costume. He was a good sport about it and didn't seem to mind it too much. Both Boyd and Brewer played the games that they had in the gym. Boyd's favorite was the football toss, which suited him well since he was #4, Taysom Hill. Brew's favorite game was the bean bag toss. The girls helping him thought he was the best thing ever and were so cute with him.
On Halloween, it snowed ALL day long, with the exception of 2 hours when Trick or Treating on Main was scheduled for. It was a Halloween miracle! It was still really cold, but at least it wasn't snowing. Before we met up with our friends, we headed over to Phil's shop, brought our pumpkins, and got the kids ready. Phil decided that he would stay open this year and just pass out candy. However, I think after that experience he has decided not to do that again. The kids had fun trick or treating. The whole concept was entirely new to Brewer and he wouldn't put any candy in his bag unless I had a new piece to trade it out with. It was pretty funny and everyone thought he was darling. After we were frozen, we grabbed some dinner and then headed over to the church for a trunk or treat. That was miserable. It was snowing and freezing and I think we only lasted for about 15 minutes. Phil had to make a few stops on the way home and I ended up taking the kids to a couple of houses before we went home for the night. Before the kids went to bed we called my mom on video chat so she could see the kids costumes. Even though it was a very cold day, it was a lot of fun!!
