Finally in June we got some warm weather. We were able to spend a lot more time outside and really start being able to enjoy this awesome valley! I think it officially started when the hot air balloons made their appearance. It was fun to see them right above our house, but not fun to wake up early than we wanted to the sound of hot air being fired into the balloon over and over. A few times Boyd ran outside in his pajamas to yell good morning to the people in the balloon...or maybe just the balloon. We made several more trips to the park and even started doing Brewer's OT at the park when it was warm enough.
There were even a couple days that were borderline warm enough to take the pool out and actually put water in it! Boyd was in heaven and Brewer was a bit curious. One of the days we had some friends over and Boyd disappeared for a little while. When he returned he had a bowl of ice in hand like it was no big deal. He shared it with his brother, which was so sweet. Later when I went inside I found the ice cream carton with the lid on and the ice cream scoop out on the counter. It made me laugh at how capable and independent Boyd is.
I think one of the highlights for the kids was going with our friends on a little hike up the canyon to the waterfall. Boyd was thrilled and Brewer was happy to be packed around and then play a little in the waterfall. When we got there we let the kids play in the water, but that didn't last too long because it was so cold, fresh snow melt. We had some snacks, threw rocks and Boyd did a climbing. He was right in his element.
Phil borrowed Grandma Great's Rhino so he could create a track in the field next to our house for Boyd to ride his dirt bike. Our first idea and attempt of doing it was not successful. So instead Phil just took the boys and the neighbor boys for rides. I think that was probably better than making the track any way.
Upside-down in the new bike trailer!
