!!Gordon Hayward is Our Favorite!!

Towards the middle of April Phil realized that the Jazz season was almost over, at least for the regular season, and Boyd still not been to a Jazz game in his life. He was determined to get Boyd to a game. They decided they would just drive down and back in the same day, which meant Brewer and I would stay home. I was fine with that and excited for Phil and Boyd to have a little adventure just father and son. Boyd was thrilled and couldn't stop talking about Gordon Hayward. Phil thought it would be great if Boyd could actually meet him and we did what we thought would give him the best chance. I made a poster for the boys to take to the game and Phil took a picture of it with Boyd a few days before the game. He then put the picture on his twitter feed saying they were coming to the next game and tagged Gordon Hayward so he would be able to see it. Then Phil talked to David Locke on twitter and asked him for his advice on the best way to meet Hayward. He told him to show up right when the arena opens and head down to the floor. He said most players are already in the locker room by then, but some stay to meet the fans and give signatures. He said they would be lucky if Hayward was still out on the floor.
So Phil plotted out his plan, knew what entrance was the best and would get them to the right tunnel on the floor the quickest and showed up before the doors opened. When the arena opened they headed in, Phil said, "Boyd, look! There's Gordon Hayward!" Boyd had his sign and Gordon looked up and waved to Boyd!! That would have been enough, but things just worked out so perfectly! They were down waiting for their turn and Gordon was able to sign both Boyd's and Phil's jerseys. Phil asked the one of the security guards (who was an older woman) if it would be okay for Boyd to take a picture with Gordon. She said they usually don't do that but to follow her. She escorted them down onto the floor and asked then asked Gordon if he would take a picture. Phil said that he was so nice and so good with Boyd. He gave him knuckles and then Phil took a picture of him. Phil's hand were shaking so bad he had to give himself a mental pep talk to get a decent picture! Paul Millsap also signed a basketball for Boyd, but he wasn't quite as nice as Gordon!
Shortly after Boyd called me and told me all about it. I couldn't believe it! Listening to Boyd and hearing the excitement and joy in his voice filled me to bursting. This will be a memory that we will always remember and we are so grateful that Gordon Hayward to nice enough to help a little boys dream (and maybe his dads) come true. Gordon Hayward will always be our favorite!!!

I LOVE and have so much respect for the players that do sweet things like that. What a great experience!
