Not very many days after Brewer's birthday we decided that it was time for him to have his first haircut. It wasn't terribly long, just uneven all over. And I remember looking back at Boyd's picture regretting not cutting his hair soon (it wasn't his first haircut, but it got long and straggly at one point). So we just gave Brewer a quick trim to help even everything out, especially right on top and in front. He was happy to have it cut, but like any 1 year old, hard to keep him still.

It might have been harder to keep him still for a picture after the cut than it was during.
Lately, Brewer has been a lot happier. He's gotten a handful of teeth and can get himself anywhere he wants to go for the most part. He still not walking yet, but will talk a few steps at a time. If he really wanted to, he could. His favorite places to play are in the fridge, dishwasher and bathroom (although he's hardly even in the bathrooms thanks to our well trained 4 year old who ALWAYS closes the bathroom door when he's done). If you want to get into the fridge or dishwasher you have to do it very quickly or Brewer will be there within seconds. And when we are desperate to keep him happy we let him take everything out. (Don't worry all the plastic bottles are in the low shelves). Brewer has also been sleeping a tad better. I still rock him from time or time, but better naps and an ocassional good night are happening a bit more! Yay (for everyone!!)!!
Boyd has been a tad challenging for me lately. I think it's a combination of a lot of things, but mostly from being stuck inside so much. He still is a really good boy and a great helper! We just need to help him learn how to play on his own better. Phil got his and Boyd's dirt bikes out and cleaned up for the upcoming season. Boyd was thrilled and so happy to help around the shop while he worked with Phil.
One morning while I was cleaning up the kitchen and getting ready to go skate skiing, Boyd started screaming from the living room. He had been playing on the couch and climbing up into the window sill. He lost his balance and from what I could understand from Boyd grabbed onto the string of the blinds. It partially wrapped around his neck (SO SCARY) and gave him a bad rope burn. Poor kid!! I quickly put some oils on it and an ice pack and before too long he was fine. But he had a pretty nasty scab for quite a few days! While he won't be climbing up into those window sills any more, he has found a new favorite spot to climb up on my bed. He thinks it's pretty fun to climb up and jump off onto my bed with pillows stacked high!

Boyd has a dirt bike??? I love that! So fun!
LOVE THOSE BOYS! Cute haircut. I'm so glad Brew is sleeping a little better. Even a "little" helps. So scary about the blinds. I'm so glad he's safe. That is quite literally one of my biggest fears for my kids' safety. Dang blind cords.
