A Few More Days of Christmas Break

After Christmas we still got to have Steve's family for a few more days and we even saw more of the rest of the family here and there too. We tried to make the most of it, beginning the next morning with rice cereal. It was the first year that we were at our own house and thought it would be a good time to try making it on our own. However, we did invited everyone over and that added some pressure for it to turn out. While it wasn't the best batch of rice cereal, you got a crunchy rice here and there, it was still super yummy! My kids gobbled it right up and everyone else seemed to enjoy it as well. Now since we have made it on our own, we never need to go a year without rice cereal sometime during the christmas season!
Kari invited a ton of family and friends over to his place in Tetonia for spud nuts and sleigh rides. It was a blast, such a fun thing to do as a family, especially with little ones. I'm not sure what they were more excited about, being pulled on a sled by a sleigh with horses, all the other animals, or the yummy home made spud nuts. I think both boys have three or four plus hot chocolate. I wasn't sure how that all fit in their tummies!! We were so grateful for Kari and his family for inviting us for such a fun thing!
We got another good little snow storm and took the kids out to play on the hill. It was a little short lived since it was almost dark, but it was  still worth it. The kids had a blast climbing up the hill and throwing snowballs and the dogs just ran and ran! We were sad to see Steve, Rachel, Claire and Oakley go on Sunday, but we were sure happy that they were able to spend so much of Christmas break with us! They are so much fun!
