I always love the 4th of July in the valley. I probably love it the most because it gives Phil an extra day off in the summer! But the 4th is usually filled with a lot of fun and this year was no different. We woke up and headed to the parade in Victor. We met the Chappell's there and bumped into the Eiden's as well! It was fun to watch the parade, but more fun to watch the kids watch the floats and chase the candy that was thrown out. Brewer even ventured out in front with the big kids and ate as much candy as he got and could open. We were proud that he was brave enough to even get candy.
After the parade we headed down to Idaho Falls to meet up with the Grandma and Grandpa Monson and Phil's family for a BBQ at the Zollinger's. It was good to see everyone, catch up and let the boys run around in the backyard. Steve, Rachel and Claire came up as well and then left to come up to Driggs and stay with us. We had to rush back to be on time to the annual Jensen 4th of July BBQ, but we made it! This year was particularly fun for us because Boyd played so much with his friends that we hardly saw him, and Brewer played with all the kid equipment in the dirt. So we all had a good time. The fireworks that Delwyn bought did not disappoint either. We are lucky to have such a fun group of friends and for Boyd to have so many friends as well!
Saturday the boys road mountain bikes in the morning up at Targhee and Rachel and I hung out, let the kids nap, and ran a few errands. When Phil and Steve came back we decided that Phil would keep the kids and Steve, Rachel and I would run back up to Targhee to do a quick ride before our next deadline. It was a lot of fun up there and I road Phil's mountain bike which was pretty awesome. I have decided that I'm going to use his whenever I can because it's so much more fun than mine. After riding we hurried and headed over to Roy's for the Moulton BBQ. Again it was so good to see family and have a change of scenery for the kids. They played hard and even got to go on a little four wheeler ride! After writing this post I think the reason why I like the 4th so much is because we get to spend time with so many people that we love, family and friends!! Can't wait to do the exact same thing next year!!
Excellente! Perfecto!
