The Fourth of July was especially fun last year. We were planning on doing a float again this year since it is so good for business, but at about 9 o'clock at night we threw in the towel before we even got started. It really was such a long and frustrating story, but we thought maybe we would just go and enjoy the parade this year. So that's exactly what we did. The kids had a great time and we stumbled upon a great spot to sit or not sit. There was plenty of room for Brewer to toddle around and not too many other kids for Boyd to compete with for candy. We also met up with some friends, the Chappell's. It was a great start to our day!
After the parade we headed home to relax and put Brewer down for a nap. We got ready for the BBQ we were going to that evening but cutting watermelon and husking corn. Brewer played in the pool and the big boys played basketball. It was the perfect afternoon. Later we went to the Jensen's for their annual 4th BBQ. A bunch of our friends and their families were there and we all had a great time. Brewer even ventured out a bit and enjoyed his own little lights and the fireworks.
