A Week with Katlin

A few weeks ago we got the treat of having my best friend from Oregon come and stay with us for about a week! It was SO MUCH FUN!! Katlin is amazing. She took time out of her schedule, took time off work, and flew out to spend a week hanging out and helping with Brewer. We were all a little spoiled while she was here and the time passed too quickly!

Sunday night all four of us piled into the car to head to the Jackson Hole airport. Upon arriving we realized we should have brought Remy too since every single person there had their dog with them IN the airport. Waiting for Katlin was pretty fun. Mostly because Boyd (and myself) were so excited. I kept tell Boyd I was going to race him to Katlin and he took that challenge very seriously, even though he didn't really know what she looked like. In the end, he won and flung himself into her with a big hug. It was the beginning of a beautiful week.

Waiting at the Jackson Hole Airport

Boyd kept himself entertained with this luggage scale while we waited.

Oregon Duck shirts and Nike's from the Ronningen Family!
Katlin always had both Boyd and Brewer (and often times Remy) engaged. They loved her.
A story before nap time
I think one of Boyd's favorite memories from her trip had to be the bubbles. The weather was a little bit cold we did bubbles in the bathroom. Even Remy got in on the action.
Don't cross her. Just kidding. Just a funny shot of Remy trying to catch all the bubbles. Boyd thought it was hilarious.

Boyd even got to help make banana bread.

Chowing down on some peach pie FILLING on our way to Jackson.
We spent the day Katlin was leaving in Jackson. We window shopped, bought some tourist-y shirts, had lunch at the Merry Piglets, and of course took pictures in the square.

Boyd was hilarious in this picture. He was pretty nervous to stand in front of that bear and especially to turn his back on it for a picture. But I love this picture.
The week was pretty low key, mostly doing things around the house. I think I enjoyed most the quiet times we had just to relax, chat and catch up. A few times we sat down to watch a show, but that proved nearly impossible because we couldn't quit talking. I also loved watching my two boys play with Katlin. If we could afford it, I would hire her full time to live with us. Unfortunately right now all we have to offer is Boyd's bed and meals. ;)

We were all so sad when Katlin left. Although the stress of us/traffic making her almost miss her flight helped to ease that pain in the moment. Even Remy was a little depressed Katlin was gone. She got extra love from Katlin and even got to sleep with her at night. I really can't put into words how much I appreciated Katlin coming to stay and help with us! It was wonderful! We hope she'll come back soon!

Reading this post and looking at the pictures made me cry! So many memories of the two of you growing up! Sleep overs, setting up "shop" dressing in Holloween custumes, and prom dresses, you are truly blessed to have such a friend. The Thelins love the Ronningen Family!
