The weather is finally warming up around here which means that we will be doing a lot of camping. Living up here in definitely has it advantages. We live within fifteen minutes of 8 different canyons where we can camp, hike, and take ATV's. This last weekend we went camping up South Leigh Canyon with our good friends the Wilson's. It was SO refreshing to spend time outdoors.
We left Friday night and enjoyed a yummy dutch oven dinner, cobbler, and of course s'mores. It was perfect. Phil borrowed his Grandma Moulton's Rhino and the kids were in heaven. They loved to go for rides, but also loved just playing on it. One time while they were playing on it, it rolled about 10 feet. I looked over and did a double take when I saw it moving. The kids thought it was great fun because they felt like they were driving all by themselves. However, Tiffany and I about had a heart attack. After that we made sure the brake was always on. =)
Phil roasted a hot dog for Boyd, but Boyd wanted to eat the hot dog right after Phil put it on the stick. He was a little grumpy that he didn't get to eat it right away, but as soon as he realized he could hold it in the fire he was on board and helped Phil cook it.
The Wilson's
I really don't know what we would do with out this family!! We have so much fun together and keep each other sane!
Roasting marshmallows before bed.
I was a little worried about putting Boyd to bed in our tent (not in a crib or pack n' play) and because it stays light so long. I just figured he would want to play and run around in the tent. But he was amazing. Phil laid him down and he didn't cry or make a peep all night long. In fact, when we came to bed a couple hours later he hadn't moved an inch. I guess he was worn out.
Up until this weekend Garrett has been scarred of Remy. He had a bad experience with a dog in the past and it has made him scarred of most dogs. However, on this trip Garrett's relationship with Remy drastically changed. When we were all sitting around the fire he kept asking Phil over and over to make Remy sit by him so that he could pet her. It was pretty funny.
Enjoying the fire.
Boyd LOVED playing in the dirt and especially the sticks and rocks.
(He woke up early and was a bit grumpy because of it and we were trying to keep him quiet, hence the binki).
All the boys went for a Rhino ride in the morning. Both Garrett and Boyd fell asleep within minutes of leaving.
Of course Boyd has a fun time running around in the tent when we were packing up.
After we packed up we all went for a hike up Beard's Wheatfield trail. Unfortunately we weren't able to make it all the way up the trail because there was too much water but it was still so much fun and very beautiful!
I LOVE the outdoors! I think we might go camping every free weekend we have and take advantage of this beautiful valley we live in!!

But you have given me some hope, Jerai. Maybe it will work in the not too distant future. Jerai, your hair looks great! Love the color and cut! You guys all look so good.
