I Thought This Day Would Never Come

No more of this:
or this:
Ever since Boyd was 6 months old he started getting teeth. And they never stopped coming. I think the biggest break he ever got was 2 weeks. Unfortunately for all of us, Boyd and teething did not fair well. He didn't take very good naps, or sleep as long as I thought he should at night (waking up early no matter what time I put him down), he had at least two dirty diapers a day, along with diaper rash if it wasn't cared for in every diaper change, and lastly just a case of the grumpies on most days.
When he woke up from his (short) naps I would always try to hold him and get him to sleep a little longer. Recently, he started throwing tantrums. In the picture above, I was trying to cook and get something done for Young Women's later that night. After about 4 minutes of crying he decided to just laying down and then fell asleep.
But not any more. With the exception of his two year molars, Boyd has all of his teeth (as of last week). Since then, he's been taking better naps, and sleeping later into the morning. I attribute this to teething (as well as many prayers). I have decided that teething is terrible. Yes it can be a bit of a trial on the parents, but it's sad that it hurts and bothers the babies. They can't do any thing about it--they just have to endure it. Any ways, I'm just grateful that it is over for a time and that Boyd seems a bit happier lately.

Poor Boyd! Poor Momma! Hope each nap gets just a few minutes longer and each morning comes just a little later!

yay for being done!!! those pictures crack me up of boyd. and i feel you on teething {although ours doesn't sound THAT bad!} Q has broke four teeth within this last week and it's been killing us. I can see all four and he's still doing weird things so maybe more are coming? or maybe they continue to hurt till they are all the way through? i never know with this teething thing. it's so nuts and so sad! miss you guys lots.

Hurray! No more teeth! I know how you feel, I think a lot of Kait's grumpiness is attributed to her teeth. She started at 4 months and we haven't had much of a break. She started sleeping well last week, but then tooth 11 and 12 have decided to make an appearance and well, sleeping has gone out the window...again!!! It is nice to hear that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I love the picture of him on the kitchen floor. That is too funny. Also, thank you for the info on the gate. Too bad you guys don't live closer. I would totally hire Phil to build me a gate. Alas, we will make do with only turning it on in the evenings when Kait is asleep.

I'm glad you are getting more sleep and that his teeth are in! I feel like it is as bad for the parents as well as the babies. Yay for Boyd!
