A Little Trip to Portland

Phil and I recently made a 9 day trip up to Portland, Oregon. As usual, it went by way too fast! For the first part of our trip we were able to spend time with my family and it was wonderful. I'm not really sure when the next time I will get to see most of them, as Boyd will be coming soon and I'm not sure a trip up to Portland will be on the agenda any time soon after that. At least I will still get to see my mom when she comes down to help out with our new little addition in October. Unfortunatley, I did not take as many pictures as I should have, but I've included a few highlights.

Phil has a really neat application on his computer that the kids (and adults) loved. The camera on his computer takes a picture and then distorts the picture so the people end up looking really funny. All of the kids thought it was hilarious and would gather around and on top of Phil so they could call be in the picture. It was pretty fun.

Here we are at the Portland Temple waiting for Stephen and Rachel to come out. Elisabeth could not focus on our picture taking. We probably had to take four pictures before she would actually look at the camera instead of looking to see if Stephen and Rachel were coming.

Here are all of Phil's siblings, with the exception of Grayson, at the luncheon. They all gave Rachel a little gift that would help her adjust to being married to Stephen. It turned out really cute.

On Saturday, after the wedding, we took a trip to the Rose Garden with Amy & Clark, and Phil's grandparents. It was so beautiful! There were a few signs posted up that if you picked a rose you would fined $500. I thought I would post the rose that I would have picked--my $500 rose.

We left Portland the day before my 24th birthday, so my family decided to celebrate a few days early. My mom made my favorite home-made cake: yellow cake with chocolate (store bought) frosting. It was delicious!!

One of the last hight lights of the trip was being able to see my sister who is pregnant with triplets!! She is three months behind me (but won't go full term), and I am just a little bit bigger than her. It is so fun to be pregnant at the same time as her and really be able to relate to one another! She is my inspiration--I can't believe how well she is doing and any time I feel like complaining, I think of her and what she is going to have to go through!!
